Prohibited Urbana On-Line profile content, private messaging, discussion forum posting, blogs, and e-mailing behaviors include (but are not limited to):

- "masking" by using alternative characters/spellings and spaces to get around profanity filters, leet-speak, and combinations of words that produce an offensive result (e.g. ura hugeazz, Tow El Head)
- "filter testing"
- discussion of or in-character enactments of "cybering" or sexually explicit material
- discussion of or in-character enactments of graphic violence

hate speech (e.g. racial, ethnic, sexist and religious slurs)

promotion of or engaging in illegal activities, for example: drugs, drug paraphernalia, rape or solicitation of a minor, computer hacking, and copyright violation

No useless posts. This includes: thread bumping, useless one liners, flamewars, trolling, and spamming.

advertising or promoting a business or commercial site within the discussion forums without the permission of the Urbana On-Line management.

impersonation of another person, site staff or Urbana On-Line member by either Username or self-representation (e.g. faking a Username by using similar-looking characters, or claiming to hold an official title or position relating to Urbana On-Line)

reregistering a banned Username, a variation of a banned name, or declarations under a new name that you are "really" the banned name or attempts to resubscribe under another address after being suspended/banned by a moderator.

off-topic posts or thread hijacking.
These disruptive behaviors are grounds for removal; Urbana On-Line site admins are the final judges of whether a member's behavior qualifies as inappropriate or a disruption.
- Before posting a question, check to see if your question has been answered anywhere else on the site. Use the search feature (both on site content and the discussion forum).
- Post your comment/question to the most appropriate place. Any posts deemed to be in the wrong forum or category will be moved. Do not cross-post the same question to multiple places.
- Thank those who help you. Acknowledgement of a helpful suggestion not only placates those who helped you, it may also help others with a similar problem. All members are encouraged to help other users by responding to their questions when they know the answer.
- You are not permitted to pass off as one’s own, or solicit for the exchange, sale, or purchase of content that infringes upon anyone else’s intellectual property rights, including but not limited to any copyright, trademark, rights of publicity, rights of privacy, or other proprietary rights.
In other words, behave yourself. Treat other people you encounter on Urbana On-Line just as you would treat them in person--politely.
Content Ownership / Responsibility
Urbana On-Line is the sole owner of the information posted on this Web site. You are not permitted to take information, posts, comments, etc… and reproduce them in any manner without prior written consent of the Web site owner.

Disciplinary Procedures
If a member of Urbana On-Line has demonstrated he or she cannot follow the prescribed rules, the member will initially have his/her user account suspended and will eventually be permanently banned from the site.
These procedures are only meant to be rough guidelines, as each profile, board, and content situation is different and may require other measures to ensure the community orientation of the site.
Make Urbana On-Line a Better Place
If you witness actions in the discussion forums, blogs, or other areas that you believe harms a guest, damages Urbana On-Line, or violates Urbana On-Line's or some third-party's rights, please make a note of the time/place where the event occurred and contact the Urbana On-Line Administrator immediately. One of Urbana On-Line's goals is to keep this site informative, "clean", helpful and in general, a nice play to visit and be a member. The rules exist so we can accomplish these goals.... It's pretty simple though - just be respectful and professional and everyone's time here will always be enjoyable.
